PRR Juniata E&M Yard, 1963 |
Description: |
E&M Yard. Here is an original photo that I took at the Juniata E&M Shop Yard in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 10 August 1963. Shown here is the trusty turntable on the left. Beyond it are dozens of locomotives in various states of repair: from work almost finished to being cannibalized. Many makes and models are represented. Parked next to an unidentified Baldwin "Shark" in the foreground is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5850, an EP-20 built by GM-EMD in August of 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. |
