Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Oyster Bay, New York, in 1935. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4176, an E-3SD (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as an E-3D during August of 1907, rebuilt as an E-3SD in May of 1913, and retired in December of 1945 after 38 years of faithful service. In this context, it's assigned to the Long Island Rail Road. Gary Mittner Collection.

PRR 4-4-2 #4176 - Pennsylvania RR
Description:
With a full tender and steam up, PRR 4-4-2 Atlantic #4176 is ready for another day of service. The loco was built by the PRR's own Juniata Shops in August of 1907 (Juniata serial #1730, class E3d). In May of 1913, it was rebuilt into an E3sd class loco. The final disposition of the loco is currently unknown. This is an Elroy Giffin photo.
