Description:  BNSF 6886 idles in the night on the end or the lead of this loaded rock train (power running 1x1) in the Old Monroe, Mo. siding along the BNSF Hannibal Sub. Since the area at Mp. 54 washed out twice in two weeks, they decided to keep a train close by for a quick supply of ballast. With the constant heavy rains coming to an end, the train left the area after a 14 day stint in the Old Monroe siding. I dont mind this location but these damn billboards here are a major eyesore, especially in pictrres like this one.

Facing The Storm
Title:  Facing The Storm
Description:  While I was killing some time before my designated driver duties were needed again, I decided to see if any thing was moving around the area. Just before sunset I wandered over north of rhe A.O. Smith yard in Granite City, Illinois and found a pair of NS motors and an inspection crew checking the lead unit before the storms rolled through the area. After talking to the inspection crew for a little bit, one thing lee to another and I asked if I could try an interesting picture. So here I am standing on the rear platform of the NS 7515 looking ahead at the massive thunderhead brewing to the northwest of Granite City, Illinois.
